The Botanical Expo is known for its vibrant plant fair where you can find a wide variety of rare and unusual plants. Specialists will love the rare alpines, bulbs and perennials. Super stalls to buy those impossible-to-find treasures and hard-to-find gardening books.
Several gardens in the vicinity of the Botanical Expo are specially opening their gardens between Friday 15th September to Sunday 17th September welcoming visits from all for $10.

Botanical Expo Dinner
Come and join us for an evening experience with guest speaker Becky Fox Matthews on "Wildflowers from the Cedar Glades of Tennessee” and a meal prepared by Country Feasts. A delicious choice of ham, lamb or chicken plus three salads and three hot vegetables, along with bread, dessert, tea and coffee.
Wine, beer and juice will be available for purchase at a reasonable price from 5pm.
Canterbury Horticultural Society (CHS) Spring Show at the Expo showcases a special daffodil section full of exquisite and rare blooms.
Come along and enjoy the displays or throw your hat in the ring and enter your own blooms.
45-minute workshops ($5 a session) arranged by the Canterbury Horticultural Society (CHS) for the Expo.
Sowing Sustainably - Local heritage seed raising with sustainable seeds. Be Diverse! - Discover your garden’s biodiversity and help preserve natural environments. For the Love of Bulbs - Learn all about propagating daffodils; as well as creating your own new variety. Edible Bouquets - This session is dedicated to edible bouquets – gift, table decoration and salad all wrapped up together to make the perfect potluck posy. Nurture with Nature - A special session for tamariki. Enjoy a selection of nature inspired crafts and activities for ages 0-10 years old.
