The CHS Daffodil Show at the 2026 Botanical Expo showcases a vibrant display of colour, fragrance, and award-winning daffodils.

The Christchurch Bonsai Society welcomes you to a display of the very best the club has to offer. The club is one of New Zealand’s oldest, being active since 1968. Bringing together passionate bonsai artists to hone their skills. Explore the beauty of nature miniaturised, appreciate the refined trees and chat with experienced bonsai growers. Don’t miss their live demonstration on assembling a Japanese maple forest.

The Canterbury Orchid Society will bring a burst of colour and elegance to this year’s Botanical Expo with a spectacular Orchid show and display. Visitors can expect an inspiring showcase of rare and award‑winning orchids, expert‑grown specimens that highlight the remarkable diversity of this beloved plant family. The Society’s growers will also be on hand to share their knowledge, offering insights into cultivation, conservation, and the joy of orchid keeping. 

The Botanical Expo is  known for its vibrant plant fair where you can find a wide variety of rare and unusual plants. Specialists will love the rare alpines, bulbs and perennials. Super stalls to buy those impossible-to-find treasures and hard-to-find gardening books.

Discover stunning creations from Floral and Garden Clubs across Canterbury, featuring talented groups of floral artists who transform flowers, foliage, and an array of natural and crafted materials into captivating displays.

This year there is more to enjoy as the Canterbury Floral Art Clubs will be competing for their annual **Bell Competition**.

The Bell was gifted by Merle Glasgow to the Canterbury floral art community to be competed for annually by clubs across the region. For this year’s event, each club will showcase its own creative interpretation of the theme “The Earth laughs in flowers.”

With demonstrations, workshops and speakers on offer throughout the weekend, there is something for everyone – a chance to see skills in action, get hands on and learn more.

We are planning to have an exciting range of food and drinks available for our visitors this year.
